Jeremy Wilson is the Deputy CISO for Security Operations for the State of TX Department of Information Resources (DIR) and works in the Office of the Chief Information Security Office (OCISO). Jeremy is responsible for establishing Security Operations Center at a Texas university and overseeing the program once established. Jeremy will also establish and oversee the Texas centralized cybersecurity incident response team, which will be responsible for responding to incidents, establishing play books, coordinating cybersecurity exercises, and performing threat intelligence.
Jeremy has over 23 years of security and leadership experience and over 7 years of service working for the State of Texas at DIR, DPS. He has held security, telecommunications and I.T. roles in the US Army, U.S. Army Reserve and the Texas Army National Guard and has been with the State of Texas in Cybersecurity since 2013 . He holds a CISSP, CISM, CRISC and Security + Certifications.

As the Field CTO of RSA's Public Sector, Mr. Schmalz assists organizations in understanding their security architecture needs and how RSA's security products can help protect their critical infrastructure. Before joining RSA Security, he was Director of Business Development at Quantrad, a biometrics vendor. Prior to that Mr. Schmalz worked for the National Security Agency as a cryptographic mathematician.
Mr. Schmalz has spoken at multiple venues on topics ranging from standards compliance to cryptography. He is a long time participant in ASC X9 and was the technical editor for X.119 focused on tokenization.
He received an undergraduate degree from Columbus University and a Masters degree in applied mathematics from Southern Methodist University.

Alisha Powell Gillis is the senior editor at Route Fifty where she is responsible for programming live and online events content, moderating panel discussions, soliciting, editing and writing analytical pieces and overseeing the annual Navigator Awards program. Before joining Route Fifty, Alisha was the director for community impact at the Urban Libraries Council (ULC) where she worked to connect urban public libraries to critical issues in state and local government and led event programming. Prior to ULC, Alisha served the nation's governors for nearly a decade at the National Governors Association where she specialized in homeland security, emergency management and cybersecurity issues. Alisha holds a master's degree in global security studies from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor's degree in political science from Hofstra University.
