Roadmap to Modernization: Working Across Agency Boundaries

Welcome to our third installment of the 2022 Roadmap to Modernization Series! 

Citizen demand for efficient and effective government services relies on the best technology, leadership, and most of all, collaboration. Over the past decade, the Pew Results First initiative has worked with 27 states to better understand just how impactful collaboration really is, and more importantly, what it looks like. Nextgov's Aaron Boyd kicks off this installment of Roadmap to Modernization alongside expert Sara Dube, with an evidence-based discussion on how collaboration across the different branches can lead to more sustainable and impactful work. 

A simple ransomware attack has the power to shut down an entire industry, putting innocent lives at risk and devastating the critical continuity of operations. Endpoint security is the key battleground at play to protect against these attacks. By stopping malware from getting in, the potential power of ransomware is immediately interrupted. In this session, HP + Intel further explore the priority of endpoint security efforts and their role in bolstering protections against looming ransomware threats.

Broadband has quickly become an integral part of everyday life as critical access to everything from work to education, health care to government services, have all moved online. Just as quickly, this shift left a deep divide between those with and those without access. The need to expand high-speed internet access is clear, but the path forward varies among experts. In this session, we explore the necessary integration of approaches between the federal, state and local governments to ensure an effective and efficient expansion of broadband access.

Data-sharing and interconnectivity significantly improves the speed and effectiveness of military planning and decision making, but can also open networks to a host of cybersecurity risks. U.S. state and local governments, federal agencies, and the military must remain vigilant of vulnerabilities and embrace new paradigms of cybersecurity. In this session, Defense One sits down with defense cybersecurity experts to discuss how the U.S. defense community in particular is improving their cybersecurity efforts through Red Teaming, and the implications this has for all services.
